韓国・大邱（テグ）生まれ、現在は東京都在住。今思えば、私がデザインに興味を持つようになったのは幼少期から接していた日本のアニメや、 中学・高校の時に目にした(当時の韓国と比べて異次元の質の高さをもつ)日本のマンガ、プラモデル、 工業製品の影響がとても大きかったと思います。
なんとなく絵を描くのが好きというのもあり、地元のテグの短期グラフィックデザイン学校を通い、 就職をするが、次第に物足りなさを感じるようになりました。 そんなある日、当時、私が参考をしたり、いいなと思っていたデザインのほとんどが 日本で作られていることに気が付き、日本でデザイン勉強をし直すことを決心しました。
それから無事に兵役を終え、1998年人生初めての飛行機を乗って日本(東京)へ留学。東京デザイン専門学校の優秀な先生のもとで３年間デザインの基礎からグラフィックデザイン全般、映像、 web、3DCGなどを幅広くしっかり学ばせていただきました。
その後、いくつかの日本のグラフィックデザイン・webデザイン会社を経て、最後に在籍したデザイン会社は「omdr株式会社」でした。代表である美澤さんの指導のもと、web制作(当時はflashでのサイト構築がメイン)を担当させて頂きながらブランディングやディレクションなどを学ばせていただきました。 そして、2014年5月1日「ユwebデザイン室(YWDR)」として独立。 お陰様で現在まで至っており、お仕事を通じて少しでも皆様に感謝の気持ちを返せたらなと思っております。
Born in Daegu, Korea, currently residing in Tokyo. Looking back, I think that my interest in design was greatly influenced by the Japanese anime I was exposed to as a child and the Japanese manga, plastic models, and industrial products I saw in junior high and high school (which were of a quality that was on a different level from that of Korea at the time).
I attended a short-term graphic design school in my hometown, Tegu, and found a job, but gradually I began to feel unsatisfied. One day, I realized that most of the designs I was referring to and liked at the time were created in Japan, and I decided to study design again in Japan.
In 1998, after successfully completing my military service, I took the first plane ride of my life and went to Japan (Tokyo) to study. For three years, I studied design fundamentals, graphic design, video, web, 3DCG, etc. under excellent teachers at the Tokyo Design College.
After working for several graphic design and web design companies in Japan, the last design company I worked for was “omdr Inc. Under the guidance of Mr. Misawa, I was in charge of web production (at that time, we mainly built websites using flash) and learned branding and direction. Then, on May 1, 2014, I became independent as “YWDR (You Web Design Room)”. Thanks to your support, I am now able to return the gratitude to you through my work.

ロゴの形は私の名前をモチーフにし、今までの自分の経験、価値観、そして独自の感性といったユニークなエッセンスを重ね合わせてデザインすることが唯一無二のアイデンティティーになると考えたのが始まりです。
私の漢字の苗字には「月」と「川」が入っており、それぞれ静謐な輝きと流動する力強さ、さらには詩的な奥行さがあって、この詩的なニュアンスがいいなとずっと思っていました。
加えて、私のハングルでの名前と英語の名前には「円」のエレメントが3つ入っています。この3つの円というエレメントは、調和、連続性、璧さへの追求を示唆していると考え、 これらの形状を極限までシンプルに組み合わせつつ、最終的に洗練されたかつ力強い印象を与えるようにデザインしました。
The shape of the logo is based on my name, and I thought it would be a unique identity to design it by overlaying the unique essence of my past experiences, values, and unique sensibility.
My kanji surname contains the characters for “moon” and “river,” which have a serene radiance and fluid strength, respectively, as well as poetic profundity, and I have always thought this poetic nuance was nice.
In addition, my Hangul name and my English name contain three “circle” elements. I thought that these three circle elements suggest the pursuit of harmony, continuity, and perfection, I designed the design to combine these shapes in the simplest way possible, but to ultimately create a sophisticated and powerful impression.
